Congratulations to Professor Patricia Kingori!

Ethox is delighted to announce that Patricia Kingori has been awarded the title of Full Professor.

Professor Kingori becomes one of the youngest women to be awarded a full professorship in Oxford’s 925-year history and the youngest Black professor at Oxford or Cambridge. She responded to the award saying “To have my body of work recognised in this way is a great honour, and I am deeply grateful to the many people who have inspired and supported me so far.”

Michael Parker, Ethox Centre Director, said "The award of the title of Professor is timely and well-deserved recognition of Patricia’s outstanding and highly influential contribution to global health ethics research, and of her dedicated and highly effective support for early career researchers here at Ethox and at our partner institutions across the Global Health Bioethics Network in Africa and South East Asia. Everyone at Ethox is so proud of Patricia and delighted by this formal recognition of her work."

Patricia currently leads a team of researchers exploring concerns around Fakes, Fabrications and Falsehoods in Global Health. She is a member of the Global Health Bioethics Network and leads the qualitative research support for early-career researchers in low-income countries including Malawi, South Africa, Cambodia and Kenya. She is also a member of the core project management team for the Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities and the Oxford Wellcome Centre-Johns Hopkins Berman Institute Global Infectious Disease Ethics (GLIDE) Collaborative.
