Chelsea Modlin

Chelsea Modlin is a clinical/research fellow in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a graduate of the internal medicine residency program at Emory University with distinctions in Global Health and Leadership in Teaching/Education. She is jointly appointed as a post-doctoral fellow at the Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University and the Wellcome Center for Ethics and Humanities at University of Oxford as part of the Oxford-Hopkins Global Health and Infectious Disease Ethics (GLIDE) collaborative.

Chelsea’s research centers on the intersection of infectious diseases and global health research ethics with a current focus on equity in academic partnerships between high-income and low-/middle-income settings, particularly within HIV research and medical education. Chelsea is also a part of a group collaborating with the WHO on ethics and governance of adaptive clinical trial design use during epidemic infectious disease outbreak response.
