Rachel Gur-Arie

Rachel Gur-Arie is a part of the first cohort of Hecht-Levi Fellows focused on Ethics and Infectious Disease, jointly appointed at the Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University and the Wellcome Center for Ethics and Humanities at the University of Oxford, supported by the Wellcome Trust. Her research focuses on the intersection of vaccines, ethics, global health, and decision making. Gur-Arie earned a PhD in Health Systems Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) in Beer Sheva, Israel. Gur-Arie arrived to BGU as a Fulbright Scholar in public health from Arizona State University, where she earned her MS and BS in Bioscience Ethics, Policy, and Law and the History and Philosophy of Science. Beginning Fall 2022, Gur-Arie will be an Assistant Professor in Health Services at the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University.
