Fiona Groenhout
PhD
Research Projects Coordinator
Fiona joined the Ethox Centre in October 2020 as Research Projects Coordinator. Her role is focused on working closely with Professor Patricia Kingori to support the delivery of externally funded research projects, including the Wellcome Trust-funded 'Fakes, Fabrications and Falsehoods? Interrogating the social, ethical and political features of pseudo-global health' and 'RECAP: Research capacity strengthening and knowledge generation to support preparedness and response to humanitarian crises and epidemics' (GCRF-funded).
Before joining Ethox, Fiona worked at the University of Warwick in education policy and doctoral training-related roles. She spent nine years in a wide range of administrative roles at the University of Oxford before moving to Warwick, most recently within the Social Sciences divisional office. Prior to undertaking a doctorate in Indian history, Fiona worked for the Australian government’s bilateral aid programme (AusAID), primarily to East Timor and Indonesia. Her earlier professional interest in global health was renewed during recent service as a lay member of Oxford Tropical Research Ethics Committee (OxTREC).
