Ruchi Baxi joined the NDPH clinical teaching team in 2016, focusing on the curriculum development and delivery of public health courses for medical students.

In addition, Ruchi is a Clinical Researcher at the Ethox Centre, working on the Ethical preparedness of frontline workers in humanitarian crises (RECAP) project. Ruchi's particular focus is understanding perspectives on the ethics and governance of sharing data and biological samples internationally during infectious disease responses. This research extends work from her DPhil, which she completed at the Ethox Centre in 2020. 

Ruchi studied medicine at the University of Nottingham, and completed specialty training in public health medicine in the Oxford region. Prior to joining the department, Ruchi worked in a range of settings through her specialty training - in the NHS, university, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, and as a Health Adviser at the UK Department for International Development.
