Bianca Jansky

Bianca Jansky is a research associate at the Institute for Ethics and History of Health in Society at the University of Augsburg (Germany) and an associated researcher at the Institute of Ethics, History and Theory of Medicine at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU, Germany), where she works in the interdisciplinary research project META: ethical, legal and social aspects of mHealth funded by the German federal Ministry of Education and Research. In her research she focusses on studying novel technologies at the intersection of chronic patient care and medical innovation. Her research is mainly socio-empirical, drawing on concepts of medical science and technology studies, public health ethics and intersectional feminist theories.

She obtained her BA and MA from LMU in sociology with minors in political science and philosophy. In July of 2023 she submitted her PhD thesis in social sciences at LMU. Her PhD focuses on patient-led innovation and activism in type 1 diabetes care.
