This exciting position will be based within the Ethox Centre, an internationally recognised multidisciplinary bioethics research centre and a vibrant and intellectually exciting place to work. The post holder will be a member of the Fakes, fabrications and falsehoods in global health project team, led by Patricia Kingori, Professor of Global Health Ethics.

This research project seeks to understand how uncertainty and ambiguity about the authenticity of products and activities across a vast array of institutions, actors and locations are reconciled in practice. It will also investigate the moral paradoxes associated with such uncertainty.

The project involves an inter-disciplinary team of researchers and students, working across multiple global health institutions and geographic locations, including NGOs and global health academic and research institutions in Europe, Africa and South East Asia. The Researcher will have responsibility for developing and carrying out a programme of research that will make a key contribution to the project’s overall research objectives. They will also provide guidance to junior members of the research team, including DPhil students and research assistants.

To be considered you will hold (or be close to completion of) a relevant PhD/DPhil in Sociology, Anthropology, Philosophy or a humanities discipline, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within the research project.
