Medical Student, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Feb 2025

Evelyn is a fourth year medical student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. She studied Economics as a Healthcare Management and Policy concentrator at the Wharton School, graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2021. She is expected to graduate medical school in 2025, and plans to begin neurology residency in the summer.

Her current research interests focus on health policy, especially related to how insurance landscapes impact access to care. Her primary projects in medical school explored how when compared to privately insured people living with epilepsy, separation of facilities can affect utilization of healthcare. She is also interested in health equity intervention frameworks and published on developing such a framework for people living with epilepsy. Evelyn hopes to continue to explore how various insurance models affect access to care for people with neurologic conditions
