Abstract

In this OxSTAI seminar, Dr Emanuele Ratti will share his insights on "AI Ethics, Medicine, and Capabilities", and Dr David Lyrskog will speak on "Ethics in hybrid intelligent healthcare and care – emerging issues and approaches in dealing with Parkinson’s Disease". The seminar will be chaired by OxSTAI members Angeliki Kerasidou and Michael Morrison. The talk will be followed by an opportunity for audience members to ask questions to our two speakers.

Speakers

Dr Emanuele Ratti is Lecturer in Philosophy of Science and AI in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Bristol. He is interested in the aspects of the life sciences and AI that stand at the intersection of ethical and epistemic questions. He has on-going projects in Ethics of medical AI, and in Philosophy of Science and AI.

 

Dr David Lyreskog is a Senior Researcher in Neuroethics with the Neuroscience, Ethics & Society (NEUROSEC) team in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford. Broadly interested in impactful research and innovation in the intersection of neuroscience, psychiatry, and technology, he specialises in the analysis of hybrid, collective, and distributed decision-making processes.
