Role Description
The person appointed will assist Federica Lucivero and Gabrielle Samuel to collect and analyse data for the project Digital Sustainability: Exploring ethical challenges and opportunities for a sustainable digital revolution. Specifically, the person appointed will (a) assist with a bibliometric analysis that will use CitNetExplorer, and (b) help with a stakeholder interview study. The bibliometric analysis will allow the identification of prominent scholars, disciplines and institutions in the field of digital sustainability, as well as the identification of networks by identifying clusters of closely related publications. It will also help identify a list of experts for the interview study
In this context, the role will include:
- refining the keywords used for the bibliometric analysis.
- cleaning the data for the bibliometric analysis for input into the software.
- Cleaning the list of key stakeholders provided by the software analysis.
- combining this list with a list of experts already identified in a previous scoping exercise
- preparing recruitment material for stakeholder interviews
- coding interview data
- attending 30-minute virtual weekly meetings with the CIs.
Essential Criteria
- Hold a PhD/DPhil or MA/MSc in sociology, ethics, anthropology or similar discipline
- Have proven experience with rigorously analysing interview data using qualitative methodologies
- Experience in working in the field of bioethics, social policies, environmental ethics and/or other relevant disciplines
- Have experience with conducting literature reviews
- Have an interest in ethics
- Ability to manage own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines
- Ability to assimilate information efficiently and accurately
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent English writing skills
Desirable
- Experience with conducting bibliometric analyses and/or cleaning large data sets for quantitative analysis
