wakithi.mabaso@trinity.ox.ac.uk

Wakithi studied medicine at the University of Cape Town before completing an MSc in Epidemiology at the University of Oxford. His interests lie in adolescent mental health, with previous work examining anxiety and depression in medical students and the intersection between young people’s mental health, contemporary social media use and the ethical questions that arise from their associations. He joins the Ethox Team under the supervision of Dr Gabriela Pavarini and plans on examining biomarkers for adolescent resilience, alongside ethical considerations, whilst completing his second masters in Clinical and Therapeutic Neuroscience. His project is jointly supervised by Professor Sascha Hein at the Free University of Berlin, Germany.
