Senior Researcher and Ethics Advisor in the Ethics of Global Challenges Research
NDPH, Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford
Grade 8: £39,992 - £47,722 p.a. (pro rata for part-time)
Based within the Nuffield Department of Population Health, The Ethox Centre is an internationally recognised multidisciplinary bioethics research centre and is a vibrant and intellectually exciting place to work. The post will also be linked with the Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities.
As a Senior Researcher and Ethics Advisor, you will take responsibility for the development and leadership of a programme of ethics advice to and support for researchers from across the University of Oxford working in global challenges research, and a complementary programme of global ethics research. Drawing on your collaborations with global challenges researchers across the University, you will lead the new research ethics consultation programme and provide support and practical solutions. You will also develop a programme of ethics research, ideas for income generation and regularly publish research papers and present at conferences and seminars.
You will have a relevant PhD/DPhil with significant post research experience and an established (inter) national reputation and publication record in ethics. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in ethics to develop research projects and methodologies in the ethics of global challenges research and to provide ethics advice and support to researchers working in global challenges research.
The post is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed-term for 3 years.
