Dr Farirai Mutenherwa holds a dual appointment as a Berman Institute–Oxford Joint Postdoctoral Fellow in Global Infectious Disease Ethics (GLIDE) and as a Hecht-Levi Postdoctoral Fellow at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics. He earned his PhD from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2024, where he examined the ethical implications of molecular epidemiology, focusing on phylogenetic analysis in infectious disease transmission. His research lies at the intersection of global health ethics, infectious diseases, and data science, exploring the ethical, legal, and social dimensions of emerging health technologies, big data governance, and equity in international research. His current research investigates fairness in global health, examining how ethical frameworks and guidelines promote equity and justice in international clinical trial partnerships.
