What is your role in the SHARE project?

I work on the UK element of the SHARE project. I primarily deliver WP1; so far I’ve been busy conducting interviews with health researchers across the UK about their experiences and perspectives on using tools designed to reduce the environmental harms associated with health research. This has been a brilliant process and I’m excited to start analysing the data and producing findings with the rest of the team!

What brought you to SHARE?

I recently completed the Global Health, Social Justice & Public Policy Master’s programme at Kings. Conducting qualitative research was my favourite part of the course so I was looking for a Research Assistant role that would give me the opportunity to develop my skills. I saw an email from Gabby advertising the Research Assistant role on the SHARE project and I was particularly excited by the emphasis on equity and co-design. Prior to completing the MSc, I spent 7 years working on community projects in the UK which embedded in me a commitment to inclusive practice that I saw reflected in the SHARE project. Additionally, as a long term nature lover I have always been very engaged with environmental issues.

What do you bring to the SHARE project?

I bring a love of qualitative research methods and of challenging traditional power dynamics, that I believe fits perfectly within the SHARE project! I have also spent many hours on a previous research project transcribing video footage, equipping me with fairly rapid typing skills that will certainly come in handy transcribing the SHARE project interviews.

What excites you about this project?

I am particularly excited by the SHARE project’s collaborative approach. I love learning from others and as a very early researcher I am keen to soak up all the expertise I can from the amazing researchers on the project across the five countries involved!
