Dr Michiel De Proost

Michiel De Proost is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Philosophy and Moral Sciences at Ghent University, Belgium. He also serves as a guest professor of political philosophy at the Free University of Brussels, Belgium. His research interests and expertise lie in (empirical) bioethics and feminist political philosophy. Currently, he is working on the DIME project (ERC) as a postdoctoral researcher, where he is developing normative arguments about which principles or theories in medical ethics should be reinforced or replaced to better address the societal challenges posed by disruptive innovations. In 2022, he earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy and Moral Sciences from the Free University of Brussels, with a thesis on ‘social’ egg freezing, women’s emancipation, and reproductive autonomy.
